It’s Time to Celebrate 20 Terrific Years!

20th Anniversary

We Need Your Ideas!

ProMusica Arizona is excited to celebrate our 20th Anniversary season in 2022-23 by commissioning composer Craig Bohmler (famous for “Riders of the Purple Sage” and other original works) and award-winning lyricist Marion Adler to write a 6-8 minute piece focusing on some of the many magnificent features of our great state of Arizona.  ProMusica Arizona Chorale and Orchestra will have a special performance of this work as a finale to our Anniversary season.

Here is an example of the type of lyrics Marion Adler created for the song cycle “Songs of Stone” composed by Craig Bohmler:

Come tiny feet and fingers
Come sparking eyes.
Come kisses like butterflies.
You play so near me.
I call from the shadows.
You cannot hear me in your games.
Your laughter echoes across the park.
After dark I whisper your name.

We invite you to gather and share your ideas to help the lyricist craft a text for our upcoming commissioned piece about Arizona. Just a word, a phrase or two or even a paragraph that depicts the richness of Arizona. It could be about music, longevity/history, its people, desert landscape, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, archeological artifacts and/or ruins – anything that comes to mind to help provide a tribute to Arizona!
