ProMusica Arizona is a chorale and orchestra dedicated to providing exceptional live musical experiences that enrich and create a sense of community among diverse audiences across the Valley. ProMusica Arizona envisions a community of audiences that is inspired and connected through the power of live collaborative choral and orchestral performances, fostering musical excellence and promoting a shared love of the performing arts.

In carrying out its mission, ProMusica embraces five key values:

  • Community – Creating feelings of belonging, connection and shared purpose among members, donors and audiences.
  • Sustainability – Operating in ways that minimize its environmental impact and managing resources to reduce waste.
  • Integrity – Doing the right thing, from treating members and supporters with respect and appreciation to maintaining the high moral ground in all circumstances.
  • Excellence – Consistently delivering exceptional live musical performances and putting in the work to provide them.
  • Teamwork – Working together and trusting the team to achieve our common vision and exceed uncommon goals.

Formed in 2003, the 2025-26 season marks ProMusica Arizona’s 23nd performance year. Over the years, ProMusica Arizona Chorale and Orchestra has performed a wide variety of repertoire from classical to popular, including major works and concert versions of musicals, for hundreds of thousands of people across the Valley. The multi-generational Chorale and Orchestra consist of volunteer community members, supplemented with professional performers as needed. Community musicians perform alongside professionals in concerts throughout the season.

ProMusica Arizona strives to attract musicians in every age group and provides a challenging but supportive environment to develop talent. Participation offers members an opportunity to practice with others, perform before live audiences, and receive mentoring and instruction from experienced singers and instrumentalists. Performers range in age from mid-teens to octogenarians, all of whom share a deep love of music. In recent years, ProMusica Arizona has performed:

  • World premieres of Dr. Timothy Powell’s A World Without Boundaries and Craig Bohmler’s Saguaro Song.
  • The Arizona premiere of Craig Bohmler’s Mountain Days: The John Muir Musical in Concert.
  • Original music by other local composers and arrangers, including Dana Graybeal, Jerry Gunderson, Arlin Snesrud, Zack Wells, and Thomas Hartwell.
  • Dan Forrest’s new  major work Creation.

In recent years, ProMusica Arizona has performed at New York’s Carnegie Hall, in Ireland, and at the Jubilate Mozart Choral Festival in Salzburg, Austria. In May 2026, musicians will travel to Australia on a two-week concert tour. (Please note that all members who participate in these tours pay their own way.)

ProMusica Arizona’s vocal ensemble, Women in Song (WinS), share the joy of music through numerous performances and outreach events at senior living facilities, community and special events, private events, and other occasions. WinS includes an accompanist and 16 singers, many with music degrees and professional singing experience. Members are selected through an audition process and directed by Patti Graetz, ProMusica Arizona’s artistic director.

In 2025, the Valley’s Royal Renaissance Singers (RRS) ensemble became part of ProMusica Arizona’s family. These talented professionals in historical costume deliver a capella music and brief history insights with style and wit. They have delighted audiences throughout the Valley for many years, performing for school classes, at hospitals and in social settings.

In addition to providing a performance home for local talent, ProMusica Arizona brings live music at affordable ticket prices to audiences of all ages. Students and seniors 65+, along with active and retired military servicemen and women, qualify for discounted tickets.
